In my attempt to post everyday, today’s is the first post of “Tuesday Techniques”. I’ll be sharing with you the cards from my most recent Technique Class. My Tech Class meets once a month on the 4th Wednesday. At each class my stampers learn 3 new techniques and make a card to share plus a trading card size sample. The trading card piece is mounted on a 1/4 sheet of cardstock printed with the instructions . The sheets are punched in the corner and joined with a loose leaf ring. They simply add the new instruction sheets to the ring as they attend a new class. Here’s a picture of my ring and all the instructions cards since I started these classes in 2006. I have repeated a few but not many and the classes have become so popular that I’ve had to add a repeat class. If you’d like to attend one of my upcoming classes, go to the “Register for Clubs and Classes” section at the top right corner of my blog and sign up!

Poppin Vellum

I love working with Vellum and this one is quick and simple but adds so much to your card. It’s alot like poppin pastels but you do your work on the back. Supplies: Doodle This Stamp Set, So Saffron (cardstock, ink), Vellum, Basic Black (cardstock, ink), crimper, word window punch, empressor, black gingham ribbon, sponge daubers.

Pearl Ex

If you’ve never worked with Pearl Ex you have to try it. Pearl Ex is a luminous powder that can used both dry or wet. This is the dry version using Versamark and adding the Pearl Ex over the top. Supplies: Fresh Cuts Stamp Set, Really Rust (cardstock), Basic Black (carstock, ink), Versamark, Pearl Ex Copper and Gold, Black Organdy Ribbon (retired)

Stained Glass

This technique also uses vellum with embossing and an outline image. Once you’ve stamped and embossed the image, you turn it over and using markers you color on the back. So easy and the result really resembles a stained glass window. Supplies: Time Well Spent (retired), Pink Passion (cardstock, marker), Basic Black (cardstock, ink, embossing poweder, grosgrain ribbon), Whisper White (cardstock), Vellum, Versamark, YoYo Yellow (marker), Green Galore (marker), Tempting Turquoise (marker), Silver brads.

Hope you enjoyed these and will give them a try yourself.

Till next time…Happy Stampin!
