When I plan my make and take projects each year for my New Catalog Kickoff I always plan for 3 and at least one has to use the New In Colors. During our pre-order period, I love looking at all the ideas that my fellow demonstrators come up with and when my sweet NY friend Bonnie O’Neill shared this cute this project using not only the 2017-2019 In Colors but one of my favorite new bundles, Daisy Delight, I knew I had my first make and take. Aren’t these little 3×3 cards just too stinkin’ cute? And so quick and easy to make! The cardstock base is cut at 3×6 and scored in half, Designer Series Paper is cut at 2 3/4 by 2 3/4. Stamp and punch 2 of the daisy images. Adhere together at a crisscross. Center is stamped in Crushed Curry and punched out with the 1/2″ circle punch. Add dimensionals to the back of the daisy and attached to card. Finish up with a little Winkle of Stella and you’ve got a set of 5 adorable little cards. Super cute especially in my favorite new color – Lemon Lime Twist.
Another popular new stamp set among demonstrators is the Hostess Set – Tranquil Tulips, and I fell in love with it the minute I saw it! It’s a gorgeous two step set and one of the things that drew me to it was the textured look. I love how you get so many shades and shadows all in one inking! I chose Calypso Coral and Old Olive for my color choices with black for the words. I did stamp off when stamping the base of each flower and then used full force ink on the top layer. Turned out so pretty! I also added a piece of black cardstock behind the whisper white layer which made the tulips pop and pulled the flower centers and words from Bunch of Blossoms together. And what about that yummy Old Olive Mini Chevron ribbon? It’s so soft and very easy to tie!
For the 3rd project I wanted to do something with another new favorite, the Colorful Seasons Bundle. This set can be used for so many different occasions and seasons. Plus when you pair it with the matching framelits – you can’t go wrong. This card was inspired by another fellow demo Cindee Wilkinson and the technique for the background is so fun and easy! Here I used a Thick Whisper White base cut at 4 1/4 x 11. I added a 2 x 4 1/4 piece of the Color Theory Paper Stack — the colors and patterns are so much fun – to the bottom of the card. To create the background I used my “D” block and the Pool Party, Dapper Denim, and Crumb Cake markers. Using the brush tip of your marker, you’ll color directly onto the block adding each color as you work your way down. The Pool Party and Crumb Cake are a little hard to see when you first add them but I promise it will be there when you stamp. Spritz with water (but don’t drowned it) and stamp onto your 3 1/2 x 4 Whisper White piece. Let the color seep into the paper and then lift straight up! How cool and instant is that? Let your background dry before stamping the chair and words. I love the saying “Just Breathe” and actually cut mine apart so that I could stack them instead of having to use my makers to color and stamp each word separately. Because it’s photopolymer, it’s really easy to put them back together for future projects. I popped the image up on dimensionals, added a little linen thread bow, and finished the card with the glitter enamel dots — LOVE THEM!! I love this card so much and can almost hear the waves crashing on the beach when I close my eyes!!
Hope you love these as much as I do and they give you a little inspiration of your own! The new 2017-2018 catalog is full of so many new products! If you don’t already have a demonstrator and would like a copy of your own, let me know and I’ll be happy to get one out to you!
