Sweet Summertime!
Here we are again – the 14th of July and time for the Stamper’s Dozen Blog Hot! This month’s theme is Sweet Summertime. There are alot of things I enjoy about the summer months – warm weather, everything green and growing, flip flops, and grilling out – just to name a few! But trying to figure out what to make for this month’s theme, I needed to go through all my stamps and see what I had that would work! That’s when I came across the Hat’s Off Bundle (158361 – pg 47 in Annual Catalog). It reminded me of how much I missed and enjoyed watching both of my sons (now 38 and 37) and my oldest daughter (now 30) play Little League Baseball during the summer when they were younger. We used to have the best time sitting in the stands cheering them on — whether they were digging in the dirt when they were suppose to be playing outfield or hitting their first home run! So many awesome memories!
The stamp set alone has some great elements that are perfect for making simple cards with just inks and paper. But when paired with the awesome Hat Builder Dies, you can take your projects to the next level.
You’re The Best!
The main die in the set is obviously the ballcap it’s self and how cute is that stitching? You can stamp and die cut it out like I did here or you can simply die cut it out of your favorite cardstock or DSP (designer series paper). Both are super cute and give you two different looks! In additional to the ballcap, there are fourteen (14) other elements that will cut out the stamped images or stand alone as embellishments to your project. I used the matching die to cut out the #1 Patch in Basic White but could have taken it a step further and added the stitched die as well. So many options!
I’m Your #1 Fan
For my second project I used just the sentiments from the stamp set along with the star and small ballcap (too stinkin’ cute) from the dies and paired them with one of the Picture This (155559 – pg 164) dies. This is a hidden gem found in the dies only section and a must for your collection. It offered both the circles and a second one with 3 rectangle windows! And both dies are doubled stitched windows so you have the cutouts to use on future projects! How cool is that! Both of these dies work with numerous stamps from the Annual Catalog and I know I’ll be using it a lot in the come months!
