Stampers Dozen Blog Hop – March 2022
Hello Everyone and Happy March! So glad you stopped by! I’m so sorry that I had to miss February but greatly appreciate all the cards as well as love and support for my family with the passing of Mark’s youngest brother. We are slowly getting back to some normalcy after taking most of the month off and what better way to do that than with a Blog Hop!
This month are theme is “What’s in Stock” and I wanted to go with items that are both available and ON SALE, but also are often overlooked in the catalog.
My project this month uses one of the 13 Bundles that are on sale this month during the “Savings are in Bloom” promotion thru March 31st. These bundles are already 10% off but during the sale, you’ll receive an additional 20% off! And if that isn’t enough, you can also get the Mini Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine for 20% off! You’ll find all the details here!
What Did I create?
I love any stamp set that uses the two step stamping technique and the Art Gallery Bundle (156227) does not disappoint. Because the color combinations with these flowers are endless, I decided to go with shades of purple – Highland Heather and Gorgeous Grape for the blossom and Just Jade for the leaves! So sad that Just Jade is going to be retiring soon as it’s become one of my favorite greens! Maybe the stamping gods will surprise us and let it stay! (BIG WISH). The blossom and foliage were stamped and die cut using the coordinating die set. Not only does the die set include dies that will cut out the images themselves but also has a large sentiment die – “Just Want To Say” and two different size label dies to cut out the nine different sentiments included in the stamp set!
Did you notice the background? Instead of using a DSP (Designer Series Paper), I chose the Hydrangea Hill Mercury Glass Designer Acetate (154574). It comes in both Highland Heather and Rocco Rose with a Silver back which is what I used here. You’ll find this hidden gem at the bottom of page 135 in the Annual Catalog. To add some additional shimmer and shine, I chose another hidden gem, Highland Heather 1/2″ Grosgrain Ribbon found on page 140 of the Annual Catalog. The pictures don’t do it justice but it’s as if there is silver glitter woven into it – the shine is AMAZING! Instead of a traditional bow or knot, I sandwiched the ribbon in between the layers of the main focal point in a zigzag fashion and love the added textured it brought.
Both the sentiment layer and the blossom were popped up with dimensionals for added interest and texture. I added a large Rhinestone Basic Gem (144220) to the flower’s center and two small ones on the background. This checked the box for always have multiples of three and pulled all the sparkle and shine together!
